Characteristics
The via ferrata is specific by the absence of steel rope, the carabiners click right to the cramps. The route is used in both directions, often as a exit path for the Häntzschelstiege ferrata, although this is prohibited. The path also includes a wooden ladder and a wooden bridge.
Arrival
The starting point is the car park at Beuthenfall on Kirnitzschtalstraße.
Approach
From Beuthenfall follow the red hiking trail Malerweg. After 1 km you will reach the crossroads where you turn left to Bloßstock and Häntzschelstiege. Continue straight and turn left after for another 150m. Then continue south and after 200m you will reach the Zwillingssteige.
Exit
At the end of the Zwillingsteige, follow the path about 1km to the crossroads. From there head left. Follow the trail until you get to the part of the Häntzschelsteige. Follow them up to the junction with Malerweg. From there, turn right and go back to the parking lot.
Interesting facts
The Zwillingsstiege is one of the oldest climbing systems in Saxon Switzerland, established in the 1920s.
