Characteristics
VIA FERRATA DE LA GRANDE FISTOIRE is located Near Le Caire in the Alpes de Haute Provence, 20 minutes northeast of Sisteron.
The Ferrata has 3 variants with different levels of difficulty B/D.
Climbing down from the peak passes through 2 suspension bridges and your selection to take any or all of the 3 ziplines (tyroline) installed. A fourth one is just now being final-tested for use (as of July 2025).
The trail is challenging, but rewarding and mostly - FUN!
Arrival
Big parking close to the via ferrata center (https://maps.app.goo.gl/owtxYhi736Fi6xfGA).
Approach
There used to be a requirement to reserve (0492684039) a spot, but that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment (July 2025).
Access fee is € 6.50 including tax per person (more info on http://www.viaferrata-alpes.com).
Once you pay, you cross the road to the starting point (https://maps.app.goo.gl/w5JNrfSdJ28ZPQEL6) and then climb about 7-8 minutes till you get to the beginning of the trail.
Descent
Depending on the chosen route: walk / zipline, and then the same way back to the parking lot.

60 m footbridge, nepalese bridge of 32 m. Long, beam and exit "great wall", the Bombu, slope of 4-5m, 3 Zip lines : 150 m, 135 m and 220 m
