Characteristics

Well secured via ferrata in the south-east part of Monte Peralba. Steel cables were completely renewed in 2019-2020. It is suitable also for families with children.

Arrival

Through Cima Sapadda to parking lot Rifugio Calvi (1810 m).

Approach

We follow the marked path to Rifugio Pier Fortunato Calvi (2160 m). 20 minutes above the hut there is a crossing, where we have to turn left (signposted "via ferrata"). In another 15 minutes we reach the entrance of via ferrata.

Exit

From the top of Monte Peralba towards east back on normal route via "Sentiero del Papa" (Pope's path) to Rifugio Calvi and back to parking lot. Another option is descent over the west ridge, which is slightly longer.

Interesting facts

Very popular Pope's path that can be used as a descent path - the path got its name after it was used by the pope John Paul II to ascent Monte Peralba. Very good culinarics in the Rifugio Calvi hut attract a lot of visitors!
