Characteristics

Of the Schiara via ferrata, the Ferrata Sperti is certainly one of the wildest, as you climb directly up through a large ravine on the Schiara ridge. This circumstance makes the climb an attractive destination. You are usually traveling with a few like-minded people. Once you have reached the ridge and mastered the numerous small steps at the back, you are standing directly next to the rock finger "Gusela del Vescova" - one of the Schiara landmarks. Depending on your stamina you either descend via the Ferrata Zacchi or go via Ferrata Berti to the main summit of the Schiara.

Arrival

In Belluno (reachable via the A22 to Trento, then on the SS47, SP76, SS50 and SR50 via Feltre into town) on the SR204 towards Agordo. Still in the city northern direction to Bolzano and to the hamlet of Casa Bortot - at the end of the car park.

Approach

From the Rif. 7 ° Alpini (accessible from the parking in 2½ hours on the path 501) left behind the hut on the way 502 in a stream bed and on the way 504 to the entrance (1840 m, about ¾ hours), at the end by pines.

Exit

Via the Ferrata Zacchi (route 303, C, fastest descent) directly to the Rif. 7 ° Alpini descend or down the same way again (3½ hours to hut).

Interesting facts

Tip: Descent from the north side (at the Gusela) to the Rif. Bianchet (1245 m), the next day climb back to Forc. Màrmol and either via the Via ferrata Màrmol (B/C, 500m, 3h) or the Sentiero alpinistico Marino Guardino (B/C, 320m, 3½h, slippery when wet!) back to the Rif. 7 ° Alpini.
