Characteristics
This via ferrata connects the Sudostsporn and Bert Rinesch via ferratas and is considered quite demanding. It can either be climbed independently or as part of the overall climb to the so-called "Superferrata" Priel, for which this section is essential.
The route involves crossing a cave, followed by challenging sections with two rope bridges. Many climbers end their tour after the second rope bridge, but the brave can continue on the following via ferrata to the summit. The difficult passages mainly occur in the crossings.
Arrival
Linz - Hinterstoder - Posterlucke car park (5 euros/day, 10 euros/week).
Boarding
From the car park there is a 3 km long flat path along the farms. The climb then leads along waterfalls to the Prielschutzhaus hut. From here you can either continue via the Sudostsporn via ferrata or take an escape route to the beginning of this via ferrata, which begins with a first rope bridge.
Exit
After the second rope bridge you can reach the hut via an escape route and then return to the parking lot. Another option is to continue on the Bert Rinesch via ferrata.
Interesting facts
The two rope bridges and the crossing of the cave are the most striking and interesting parts of this via ferrata. This section is essential for completing the "Superferrata" Priel via ferrata.
