Characteristics

For people with experience, variants D, D/E and E/F+!

The via ferrata starts with the K6+ pillar. You can avoid this by following the track round to the left behind the pillar. To your right is the K2 descent from the K6 pillar. Straight ahead is the K5 continuation. The path to the left leads to a K3 called Lo Pas de la Savina.

Having climbed the K5 you encounter an optional pendulum. You can avoid it be crossing the wire bridge to the other side. The pendulum is well balanced and you can grab the wire on the far side comfortably. If you miss, you can use the attached rope to pull yourself back to the start and try again.

A downclimb is followed by a steep K4 wall, an impressive spiralled ladder and some short bridges.

If you want to do the best part of Lo Pas de la Savina without returning for the entire via ferrata, go left at the foot of the spiral ladder, following the wire. Climb down on rungs to the spectular 50 metre wire bridge. Do the bridge, then reverse all of that back to the ladder, and continue upwards.

Descent

The descent is steep but is equipped all the way down with handline rope.

Points of interest

If you want to combine this via ferrata with doing the ones at Montrebei (Feliz Navidad, etc), drive the dirt road the crosses the dam wall of Canelles. It can be done in a normal car (going slowly) and the views are impressive. It is a lot shorter than going round on the tar roads.
