Characteristics

Short practice via ferrata SherpaSteig was built in 1997 as part of the training "campus" (rescue work, abseiling etc.) Training center of the Alpine Cub at Simonyhütte. There are several shorter paths of varying difficulty, but the most difficult is the middle path which difficulty at the start reaches D. Others are easier (B / C or less).

Arrival

Direction Hallstat and then to the parking lot.

Approach

From the Simonyhütte go directly to Schöberl (ferrata Moni or Steinbock) and about halfway in about 12 minutes (if you go from the parking lot, you will need to add an additional 360) to reach it directly.

Exit

After this one we recommend to go to the nearby hill Schöberl where you can climb two other ferratas. Then exit, according to the description of these ferratas, or directly back to Simonyhütte.

Interesting facts

Ferrata is practically "at a cottage."
