Characteristics

Very nice and wrongly neglected via ferrata route in Val Canali. Starting from the hiking car park, you first ascend via the Jägersteig / Sentiero del Cacciatore to the Cimerlo. At last with the short but very crisp steep steps in the middle part you can see that in the past many hunters were mostly good climbers. If you are finally in the summit area, you can climb one of the blocks (that's the via ferrata summit) with some climbing experience. It goes down over the Sentiero attrezzato Dino Buzzati, which used to lead through a narrow gap at the summit. Now descend to the left of it (C). In terms of landscape and climbing technology, a beautiful, full pala round.

Arrival

A22 Brenner motorway to the Auer / Ora exit and along state road 48 to Predazzo, then on state road 50 via Passo di Rolle to Fiera di Primiero. There turn left towards Passo Cereda / Agordo and in the fourth bend left (straight) into Val Canali to the Rif. Cant del Gal.

Approach

From the hiking car park, follow path 709 to the Rif. Pradidali to the junction at approx. 1640m, there on the left on path 742 to the entrance under the Sass Maor.

Exit

Go down on path 747, then left until you meet path 719. On this right down to the street, over which you go back to the parking lot.

Interesting facts

The Sentiero attr. D. Buzzati or the Sentiero del Cacciatore can also be combined well with the Via ferrata del Porton and the Via ferrata del Velo as a two-day tour with an overnight stay in the Rifugio Velo della Madonna.
