Sentiero Claudio Costanzi - B/C
Predicting whether..
Characteristics
Great, serious and extremely long Brenta crossing between Rif. Graffer and Rif. Peller, who always follows a ridge through a mountain landscape untypical for the Brenta and avoids the masses of the Bocchette path. The via ferrata passages are located between Passo di Val Gelada and Passo di Pra Castron and, despite the moderate technical difficulties, require a high level of alpine experience and 100% sure-footedness.
Arrival
On the A22 to the exit “San Michele a. A. - Mezzocorona ”, then on the SS43 and SS42 to Dimaro. There you turn left onto the SS239 to Madonna di Campiglio and park at the Grostè cable car (fees apply).
Approach
From the Grafferhütte (this can be reached in 20 minutes from the mountain station at the Grostè Pass or in 3 hours from the Rif. Vallesinella), follow the hiking path no. 336 northwards until you reach the Sentiero at Sperone degli Orti, 2517 m, where you meet G. Vidi (path 390). Then around the west ridge of the Cima Vagliana and climb to the Bocchetta dei Tre Sassi. From there on steep rocky terrain to Passo di Val Gelada, 2687 m.
Exit
From Rif. Peller descend into the valley on path 313 in 3½ hours or drive to Cles by car. Those who have to go back to Passo Grostè can return to Malga Tassulla on path 336, then to Malga Tuenno on path 311. There either on path 380 and the Palete path continue to Passo Grostè or on path 309 to Lake Tovelsee and on paths 314 and 311 to Passo Grostè (each about 8 hours).
Interesting facts
Very long, serious and alpine tour, which should only be done in perfect weather and with appropriate experience. Particularly worthwhile and hardly longer is the combination with the Sentiero Gustavo Vidi (A/B), start at Passo Grostè, 2446 m (for people in very good condition who ascend in the morning with the cable car).
