Get ready for a hard work! The approach is no fun, you have to ascend almost 2000 meters. But the ferrata Selbhorn-Klettersteig-Herzogsteig is an experience in itself, built in the heart of the Berchtesganden Alps. The ferrata is not difficult, but it is necessary to reserve the whole day.

Arrival

Salzburg - Bischofshofen - along B311 and B164 to Maria Alm. Cross the downtown center to the right, park at Gasthof Rohrmoos.

Approach

From the parking lot take the forest path and then turn to Lechneralm. Not directly to Almhütte, but further past pastures and then left to Braggstein. From there cross the bridge to the crossroads. Turn left and head for the start of the ferrata.

Exit

From the top along the marked trail to Luegscharten (2451 m). Here left on an unpleasant trail back to the start.
