Characteristics

An amazing mountain ferrata, very exposed, thousands of meters of rock, beautiful surroundings. The Ferrata is almost without cramps, just a rock climbing. Most sections are B, sometimes short passages of difficulty C. You can rest in many places there. Ferrata is approx. for three hours and is in the mountain massif, so beware of the sudden change in weather.

Arrival

Grunau im Amtal. Then Habernau and at the inn Jagersimmerl turn left onto the forrest road to the cottage Almtalerhutte. The road leads several kilometers around the creek, which crosses several times and is easily accessible. There is a parking in front of Almtalerhutte.

Approach

From the Almtalerhutte hutte, a wide forest road, according to the direction of Welser Hutte. After a few kilometers, the path leads to the forest and changes to the footpath and you begin to climb. After a long trip you will arrive at the Welser Hutte, which offers beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding rocky peaks. We recommend sleeping in this cottage and go to the ferrata early in the morning. From the Welser Hutte you walk along the marked path towards the Grosser Priel, after about 15 minutes from the road you turn right to the ferrata.
