Characteristics

Impressive crossing of the second highest summit of the Geisler-Puez Group, which is considered the mountain home of Luis Trenker. On the summit you have a magnificent view of Langkofel and the Puez group with other worthwhile via ferrata destinations. Three climbs of moderate difficulty lead to the highest point. We recommend starting the round with the East Ridge.

Approach

On the Brenner motorway to Klausen and continue into Val Gardena to the place St. Christina. In the center, turn left and follow the signs for Col Raiser Bahn to the valley station. Fee-paying parking.

Approach

From the mountain station on the trail 4, gently descend to the Regensburger hut, 2037 m, and on the way 13 under the south slopes of the Sass Rigais to the signpost at 2299 m. Then ascend for the crossing under the South slopes into the water trough valley and into the gap between Sass Rigais and Furchetta. From the saddle left over stepped rock and scree for the first security elements to 2826 m. If the train does not go to the Col Raiser, one reaches the Regensburger hut also comfortably on the way 3 of Selva, district Daunei, 1687 m. At the end of the drive to a parking lot (1½ hours).

Exit

Through the channel back to the signpost under the southern precipices of the Sass Rigais and on the way to the Col Raiser.

Interesting facts

Nearby tour: Nives Schartensteig / Piz Duleda (B): From the Regensburger hut to the Roascharte and to the south (trail 2A) slightly uphill to the rope fences. About bands, blocks and a small ravine (ladder) to Nives-Scharte. Not difficult on the summit of Piz Duleda, 2909m. Back to Nives-Scharte and on the way 2 (places A) to the For. Forces de Sieles and continue on the trail 2 or 17 to the Regensburg hut (6 hours).
