Characteristics

A nice via ferrata near Las Palmas. Can be combine with the Ferrata Bienmesabe - both together take about a hour. Ferrata offers several variations. The easiest is medium difficulty of C/D, the right and left variants contain short sections of difficulty D. On the left variant is shortly before the end a small cave "Cuevita Layiya".

Ferrata is truly amazing and, despite the proximity of the city, is situated in beautiful countryside and, unlike the noisy nearby highway, is relatively quiet.

Arrival

From Las Palmas to CG 23 to the south. At exit 7 (Lomo Blanco / San Roque / Tafira), exit the motorway and take the first exit at the roundabout. At the next roundabout, take the third exit to the left to Carretera Lomo Blanco. This street will then change to Barranco Zurbarán where you can park somewhere - preferably in sight of a roundabout at the motorway exit.

Approach

Go to the pedestrian crossing from the parking lot. Cross the road to open space with a large electric mast. Proceed to it first along the highway along the concrete walkway and after it starts to turn to the bridge over the highway, go straight along the highway (turn left).

Immediately behind a large electric mast, an inconspicuous path leads between the cacti down to Barranco de Guiniguada. At the beginning, go to the right and follow the path to the left into a canal where you can easily reach Ferrat Bienmesabe (at the double cave) directly under the three electric masts.

From the start of the ferrata Bienmesabe, continue down the short trough and then see the entrance to ferrata Robenreford on the left side of the rock. Alternatively, take a look at the photos ...

Exit

At the end of the ferrata turn left and follow the path to the big electric mast. From there the same way as approach back to the parking lot.
