Characteristics

Extremely hard via ferrata, which contains a passage where there is one passage of difficulty E after another. Suitable only for advanced and strong individuals! The is a rope bridge with a beautiful view!

According to experience it is not as descripted in the topo!! The start is at least "B/C" ... the same goes for the rope bridges!

Arrival

Linz - A9 exit towards Graz - Windischgarsten - St. Gallen - Park in the parking lot in front of Oberlauss.

Approach

From the parking lot, marked path under the wall where is the start of the ferrata.

Exit

The end is followed by a short path (up to 20 meters long). Next, the ferrata continues to go up !! Difficulty min B! (B/C) It goes up a bit ... about 50 meters in altitude. Then the ferrata begins to go down with the difficulty min "B". Then there is a secured footpath for about 100m where the belay rope is broken in the middle (about 20m). At the end of the footpath, the ferrata begins to drop sharply still min difficulty "B", possibly even B/C. Ferrata gradually traverses the entire wall to a large rock cleft where the steep path continues down. After a while the rope appears again and the difficulty is about "A/B" gradually passes to a minimum of "C" ... in one place perhaps "C/D". These last meters are again fairly exposed! During the exot it is necessary to watch small steel signs with the inscription "Absteig" (Down Way), because other ropes which look like ferrata can occur on the way but they lead only to the ends of climbing routes!!!
