Characteristics
At the entrance to the Turrach Valley is the "Hohe Steg", a small but impressive gorge created by meltwater masses 12.000 years ago. The gorge, which is a natural monument, can be crossed with the help of a wooden footbridge and now also has its own interesting via ferrata that makes the best possible use of the rocks. Two rope bridges and a ladder form the main attraction for ferrata enthusiasts and the Turrach stream below invites you to cool off in summer.
Arrival
Over the Mur valley to Preglitz and in Predlitz south to Turracher Höhe. After 500 meters there is a road tunnel, at the south end of which there is a large parking lot.
Approach
From the parking lot across the street to the already visible south entrance. For the northwest entry, follow the old, lower road for 2 minutes through the gorge to the north.
Exit
From the exit in a few steps to the hiking trail that leads down to the wooden bridge. After the bridge turn right to the parking lot.
Interesting facts
There is a D/E variant in the northwest part of the trail. If the bridge is climbed the other way the grade becomes smooth E. If you take the emergency exit in front of the upper long climbing bridge, you can reduce the overall difficulty to C. In extremely high water, the climb is not possible!
