Characteristics

An easy via ferrata to the summit of the Hexenturm. It is divided into two sections. In the first section, a descent with difficulty level A awaits us. This is followed by a path on walking terrain, sometimes on gravel. In the second section the path leads directly to the summit with difficulty level A/B. More experienced climbers probably won't even need the via ferrata kit, but for less experienced climbers I recommend it as exposed spots occasionally occur, especially in bad weather.

An alternative to this via ferrata is the Hexensteig B/C, which runs on the other side of the ridge.

Arrival

To the parking lot on Kletzenbergstrasse in the Buchauer Sattel.

Boarding

From the parking lot on the red marked path no. 636 to the Grabneralm hut. Then continue to the Admonter Haus-Hütte directly or via the Jungfernsteig via ferrata. We then climb to the summit of the Natterriegel and descend to a crossroads, turn right and after a while come across a rope as we descend.

Exit

Back the same way.

Interesting facts

Below the summit of Mittagskogel you will come across a thin rope that helps with the climb, but it is not the start of this via ferrata. You still have two peaks to pass before the via ferrata begins.
An alternative is the Hexensteig via ferrata, which is often confused with this easier via ferrata.
There are snow fields on this path for a long time.
