Characteristics
Classic alpine climb to the Grenzberg above Leutasch. The tour is recommended as a racy day tour or with an overnight stay in the rustic Meilerhütte. The only partially secured final climb is marked. From the summit you have a great view of the Zugspitze massif.
Arrival
Park from Mittenwald towards Leutasch and about halfway between Mittenwald and Leutasch at the car park at Hubertushof (private) or in Puitbach.
By train / bus: by train to Seefeld and by bus to Reindlau.
Approach
From the Ghf. Hubertushof on the marked hiking trail long up to just before the Meilerhütte. There left into the rubble and on to the entrance at 2500 m.
Exit
Like approach. On the Hermann-von-Barth-Weg down into the Schuttkar. The so-called Söllerrinne to the Puitalm offers itself as a frequently chosen descent alternative, so a nice round tour is possible.
Interesting facts
In the vicinity of the Meilerhütte, there is still an option to climb the Western Törlspitze (2427 m). Very experienced alpinists climb (exposed, places up to 3- / 3) on the northwest ridge to the summit and descend on the Hermann-von-Barth-Weg. The tour can of course also start from Garmisch. You ascend to the Meilerhütte through the Parnachklamm and the Reintal - but for a day tour this ascent variant is very long.
