Characteristics

Ferrata leading to the peak of Zugspitze, the highest mountain of Germany. The only downside of this via ferrata is a really really long approach, but the views are fabulous. Before the approach ithere s the glacier, which is completely exposed in the summer, ie pure ice. Without crampons, it is practically impossible to move around.

Arrival

Munich - Ga-Pa - Hammersbach. You can park by the cable car.

Approach

From the parking lot head to the Höllentallklamm gorge, the entrance fee is a couple of euros. You will walk through it and you will get to the valley, where you will climb up to the glacier that you will need to cross, and on the right side will be the start of the ferrata. It is right below the summit.

Exit

The normal way down to the cable car or use the cable car (30 only to go down!)
