Predicting whether..
Characteristics
The first real via ferrata ever built in Slovenia in a modern way. The construction and obtaining of all required permits was a year-long struggle on all levels, but finally the via ferrata Gonzarjeva Peč was officially opened on 3rd of April 2011. The via ferrata is located on a rock above the small town of Vinska Gora, near the main road Celje - Velenje (Northern Slovenia, Styria).
The approx. 70 meter long via ferrata extends to difficulty D/E and should only be done by experienced climbers with the necessary equipment. Due to its south-facing position, the trail is basically accessible all year round and is only closed in December and January with plenty of ice and snow.
