Characteristics

Not too demanding ridge path with nice views. Along the way to the Eppzirler Scharte. From here it is possible to continue the ascent via the Erlspitze Scharte via the Zirler Klettersteig.

Arrival

Prague > Rozvadov > Munich > Garmisch-Partenkirchen > Mittenwald > Seefeld in Tirol ( > Reith bei Seefeld ( > Zirl > Hochzirl ))

Onset

Cable car to Roßhütte and from there cable car to Seefelder Joch 2060m. From there, a ridge crossing over the summit of the Seefelder Spitze and the Reither Spitze to the Nördlinger Hütte. Or from the Roßhütte down the Schönenangersteig to the Reither Spitze and on to the Nördlinger Hütte. Or from the Roßhütte by cable car to the Harmelekopf and from there directly to the Nördlinger Hütte.
From Reith bei Seefeld (Parking area 47.3010281N, 11.2014431E) take route No. 211 directly to the Nördlinger Hütte. or you can go to Hochzirl by hiking route No. 14, 14a, 16, Soutěska Schlossbachklamm and route 214 to Hochzirl.
From Hochzirl (Parkoviště 47.2807081N, 11.2486778E) it is probably better to take the Zirler Klettersteig route and use the Freiungen-Höhenweg in the descent.
From Gießenbach in Tirol (47.3762578N, 11.2378272E) take route 212 towards Eppzirler Alm. There are two ways to get to the Ursprungssattel from the road, where the via ferrata starts.

Descent

Descent on route No. 212 directly to Solsteinhaus. From Solsteinhaus down to Hochzirl on road no. 213. From there either by a second car or by train to possibly other points of departure. It is also possible to walk to Seefeld on the forest road No. 16 / 214 (through the Schlossbachklamm gorge).

Another descent option is to go from the Eppzirler Scharte along route 212 towards the Eppzirler Alm. At the first sign, it is possible to turn in the direction of Breiter Sattel, from which it is possible to ascend again to Ursprungssattel, where the via ferrata begins. From there it is possible to return back to the starting point. Another option is to descend via the Eppzirler Alm to the village of Gießenbach in Tirol.

Interesting facts

It can be combined with the nearby via ferratas Seefelder Spitze Panorama Klettersteig and Zirler Klettersteig, and the via ferrata can be treated as a multi-day via ferrata trek with an overnight stay at one of the local huts Nördlinger Hütte, Solsteinhaus or Eppzirler Alm.
