Characteristics

A very nice via ferrata which is medium hard. Leads to the very top of Hochalmpsitze. Two sections of difficulty C, the rest is easier, but the entire ferrata runs along the exposed ridge at high altitude. Attention it is an alpine hike. It is also recommended to use glacier equipment and to secure unsecured areas with your own rope.

Arrival

Salzburg - continue via motorway direction Villach. Go down to Gmund and go to the Maltatal Valley. Continue straight on the main road and, at Koschach, turn left onto Gossgraben to reach the road where you can park.

Approach

From the parking lot to Giessener Hutte (we recommend sleeping there). From the cottage you go to Winkelscharte where you turn to Detmolder Grat.

Exit

Descend on the ridge until you reach the secured section of the Rudolfstadterweg (A / B difficulty) down to the cottage.
