Characteristics

The approach does not indicate anything out of the ordinary. You climb a few meters vertically with difficulty level C, then go around a tree and... then things quickly get down to business. A short but very heavy overhang truss ends with an even heavier vertical overhang about one meter high. You have to use a lot of strength to brace yourself against the rock or to hang yourself like a sloth with your feet on the rope to attach the carabiners. After overcoming this overhang, there is a traverse about 5 m long, during which you can at least rest a little comfortably on your feet in the second half. This passage ends with a heavy vertical overhang D... The last few meters to the end of the via ferrata are just a formality once you've made it this far... The via ferrata is very well secured, without artificial footholds, and should only be recommended for very experienced climbers in good shape!

Boarding

From the parking lot, walk east past the Köpince Fogado Restaurant. After 50 m the road turns left, but you continue straight ahead on a footpath. After about 100 m, turn right at the intersection. After less than 200 m in a south-easterly direction you reach the river bed, turn right again and walk about 700 m south to the wooden stairs of the Lemenet via ferrata. Walk straight ahead for about 30 m to more wooden stairs on the left that lead to the Kezdö felnött via ferrata. Get on this via ferrata and after about 10 m you will see the beginning of the Makarenkói Plafon via ferrata on your left.

Exit

At the end of the via ferrata there is a nice place for a needed break with a beautiful view of the valley. You can hook onto the Kezdö felnött via ferrata again and continue to the summit, or go a few meters to the left and hook into the Lemenet descent via ferrata until you reach the access path and return to the car park.

Interesting facts

The Köpince Fogado restaurant at the parking lot offers excellent home cooking. We recommend the burger with pulled pork!
