Characteristics

A via ferrata along the Breitkopf summit. It consists of two parts, a vertical section east of the summit and a horizontal section along the ridge. The via ferrata is not particularly difficult, but due to the exposed terrain, it is recommended to secure yourself with a via ferrata set. It can be walked in either direction, depending on the route chosen.

Arrival

Villach - Ferlach - Zell-Pfarre - from there to the Koschutahaus.

Boarding

Either via the OTK via ferrata and then along the ridge to the west or via the Lachenturm via ferrata or the Old Escape Gully in an easterly direction. If you don't want to complete the approach from Austria, you can also start from the Dolga njiva hut on the Slovenian side.

Exit

Complete the circular route according to the chosen approach.

Interesting facts

Excellent views, especially of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and Storžič peak. You can also see the Triglav and the Hohe Tauern.
