Characteristics

Popular ferrata near Hallstatt with views of the Dachstein. Many people call it one of the best ferratas they have ever climbed and we have to agree! Its wall rises up to the clouds and it is the only mountain around. The climb is physically demanding and there are several difficult passages. You can skip the last D part and use the escape road. If you are have difficulties in the first 20m, you should go back it will get much worse.

Arrival

Via Linz on the A1 motorway towards Regau, then towards Hallstatt. In Bad Goisern, take the turn to Bad Aussee and then to Altausee. Drive through the village and climb up the road marked as Loser Panoramastrasse. Passage is paid. In 2017 the toll was 16 euros. Park in the parking lot at turn number 11.

Approach

From the parking lot, head up and after about 200m when you'll see avalanche barriers and cable car turn left. Continue on the road along the mountain. Start is behind the mountain and is not visible at first.

Exit

From the top go down to Loserhutte, where you can snacks. From there, go back to the avalanche barriers and then down the same whey you came.
