Characteristics
It is a via ferrata that leads to the summit of the Hochwildstelle. So it's more of a secured ridge path to the summit, which is why most of the route is easier (except for a section B/C). In terms of surroundings, there are breathtaking views. You can see both the ridges of the Dachstein and the surrounding nature. The Hochwildstelle is a popular hiking destination.
Arrival
Linz - Schladming - Untertal - drive the Untertallstraße almost to the end, where the parking lot at the Riesach Falls is located.
Boarding
From the parking lot, follow the forest path to Riesachsee. Then it goes up to the Kotalm and on to the Preintalerhütte. Behind the hut, turn left over the stream, follow the Trattenkar and then climb up to the Wildlochscharte. The entrance can be reached shortly from the saddle.
Exit
From the summit we take the normal route down to the saddle between Hochwildstelle and Kleiner Wildstelle. With the help of crampons you get to the ridge and go to the Kleiner Wildstelle. Shortly before the summit, turn left to Neualmscharte. Then turn left again and descend until you cross the stream again. Up and left to Neualm on a poorly marked path. Follow the signs to Riesachsee.
