Characteristics

Johann is due to its difficulty and length, one of the most popular ferrata in Austria. It is one of three Ferrata from the Ferrata Dachstein. The heaviest passages are at the beginning, and most of them decide whether to continue or not. The most interesting passage in terms of the view is the Adlerhorst, which is a traversa from which you look down into the valley.

Ferrata can be climbed alone or as the Super Ferrata Dachstein.

Arrival

Schladming - turn right at Ramsau am Dachstein, continue straight ahead and then take the Dachsteinstraße on the right up to the parking place.

Approach

From the cable car on the way to Tor, about 100m to Anna-Klettersteig (you have to climb over this ferrata) or right into the valley. Approximately 100m above the wall A / B, which is marked by red, and turn it to the left into the saddle. In the saddle, turn left to Dachstein.

Exit

Over the Dachstein glacier to Hunerkogel and the cable car back.
