Characteristics
Thanks to the cable car, the entry of the via ferrata can be reached quickly and besides, you can enjoy fantastic views of the Petzenland with this Ferrata. The key point in this via ferrata is at the very end and is extremely steep and exposed.
Arrival
On the A2 until the exit Griffen. From Griffen on the main road to Ruden, there continue towards Bleiburg. From Bleiburg direction Feistritz - follow the signs to the valley station of the Petzenbahn (cable car).
By public transport: By train to Bleiburg and then by bus to Feistritz bei Bleiburg (not on weekends).
Approach
From the cable car station to the storage lake to the right behind, where the marked path begins (board "access via ferrata"), past the Krischa hunting lodge, down to the valley station. In the area of the ballast below the hunting lodge, a path branches off to the entrance (board). Zigzagging up to the foot of the wall and the first wire rope guards. Alternatively you can also ascend from the valley station via the "Untere Krischa" (Krischa trench) to the entrance (see map, time required 2,5 hours).
Exit
From Wiesenplatz at the exit in a few steps to the mountain station of the Petzenbahn (cable car).
Interesting facts
After the climb, we recommend a visit to the reservoir and the mountain chapel of St. Anna. Also the ascent of the two peaks Knieps (2110 m) and Hochpetzen (2113 m) should not be missed during a visit - time required for the nice round about 3,5 - 5 hours from the cable car station.
