Characteristics

A beautiful via ferrata to the top of Civetta - altitude 3,220. The ferrata is a mix of vertical climbing and mountain ridge. Segments of difficulty C occur to a lesser extent, and most of the length of the ferrata is an easier difficulty B. There are beautiful views of the Dolomites throughout climbing.

Be careful, this is a very demanding and long route, in one day you can practically not get it unless you are extremely fast. We recommend sleeping in the Rifugio Coldai cottage or in the cottage below the summit.

Arrival

Go to Cortina d'Ampezzo and across Passo Giau to Selva di Cadore. Here turn left to Pecol and stop in Palafavera on a large parking lot.

Approach

From Palafavery, take a short walk to the Pecol car park and turn right up the road leading to the lifts. On the way to Riffugio A. Sonino. At the cottage, turn left 557 towards the Refugio Coldai, which is about 1.5 hours away. You will see several secured paths that already look like ferrata but are not. Go up to a single signpost which will lead you to the start of the ferrata.

Exit

From the top take the road to Riffugio M.V.Torrani and from there to the simple A / B downhill ferrata, where you take the road 557 to get back to the car. You need to get back to the signpost which you saw on the way up.
