Characteristics

The via ferrata of Les Marujes consists of three equipped sections separated by short walks.

The first section crosses a ravine through a Tibetan bridge, which we will access by a short rappel of 4 meters (a life line has been adapted, so it is no longer necessary to rappel). We will leave the canyon with the help of a few clamps, in the style of those of the Urquiza-Olmo, to the path to the Peña Roja.

The second one is the most interesting, it climbs the verticality of the Peña Roja in a direct section of clamps that only turns left in an aerial traverse equipped with pegs, for us the star pitch of the ferrata. The beginning is also slightly overhanging and has the clamps quite far away, only at the exit of the crag the wall gradually loses exposure. This section may not be accessible to everyone and because of the distance between clamps is not recommended for beginners or children.

The third section, very short, is an inclined wall that is overcome with a few clamps. At the end we will find the guestbook where we can leave our impressions. Continuing 100 meters up we connect with the PR that goes up to "Les Creus" or downhill returns us directly to Tavernes.

Arrival

Coming by the CV-50 from the AP-7 freeway we enter Tavernes by the street Gandia Valencia. After a traffic circle we continue straight on and then take the first street on the right, the signpost of the Tennis Club on a white and green building of the Agricultural Cooperative. We must go to the upper part of the village up to Doctor Gomez Ferrer street which is next to the water and defense channel. We can park next to a small park with low pine trees.

Approach

We follow to the left the indicators PR-40 senda dels Amoladors, which runs up all Tavernes along the water channel. The path is wide until you reach the indicator of the ravine of the Red Rock and above the enclosures of orange groves, through which we will pass very close. The paved path climbs towards the rock to the first section of the route, the rappel into the ravine.

Descent

For the return we can take the PR of the approach, which has a higher variant that remains in the skirt of the mountain or follow the PR-38 to the top of "Les Creus" that after a hard return to Tavernes.

Points of interest

As typical for the style in Spain/France the cable is only for security and should NOT be used for climbing, so of course also the difficulty level is based on that (different style like in the alps etc. where the cable has much more tension and counts as part of the ferrata)
