Characteristics
Climbing fun awaits you here on your vacation in Spain. The absolute highlight of this beautiful sport-ferrata is the 'hinge' - you float on a kind of crane arm across the rock face. But don't worry, this fun element runs slowly even with a strong jump, you are rather in danger to have to shimmy a bit on the chain to reach the other end. The rock face is partly very slightly overhanging and very exposed, but technically not very demanding due to the countless stirrups. Above the 'hinge' it continues through a spectacular ladder. And at the end a beautiful suspension bridge leads to the exit.
Arrival
Alicante - Elche - Redovan. In Redovan drive in the direction of the sports center and park near the swimming pool in the specially designated climbing parking area.
Approach
Either on foot for about half an hour up through the pine forest or much nicer: Ferrata Redovan 1 B/C, a nice fun ferrata.
Descent
Surefootedness and no fear of heights required! Walking the narrow descent path is not easy. It leads far out to the right into alpine terrain and then back to the village.
Points of interest
- The ban on climbing due to bird breeding from January to June applies only to individual sectors of the numerous rock climbing routes - NOT to the via ferrata.
- As typical for the style in Spain/France the cable is only for security and should NOT be used for climbing, so of course also the difficulty level is based on that (different style like in the alps etc. where the cable has much more tension and counts as part of the ferrata)
