Characteristics
This is an easy via ferrata mostly in traverse, suitable for beginners and children, with 2 rope bridges in the wonderful environment of Xufu Rock Waterfall Nature Park right next to a 100m waterfall and with a wonderful view of the densely forested landscape. The entire via ferrata is perfectly secured by a number of crampons and, above all, by a unique Italian system of permanent belaying, where after placing the belay anchor on the steel rope, you cannot unlock yourself until the end of the via ferrata, which is probably an advantage for beginners or if you are climbing with children, then you are 100% sure that nothing can happen to them, on the other hand, you do not have the opportunity to overtake slower climbers. The via ferrata is paid and costs 130 RMB / ca. 17 EUR, or in combination with route C for a discounted price of RMB 230 / approx. €30 (2024). The price includes entrance to the park and via ferrata incl. complete equipment. You can have your own helmet or helmet.
Arrival
It is best to take the CRH (China Railway High-Speed) train from Shanghai, Hangzhou or Wengzhou to the city of Fenghua near the huge Pacific trading port of Ningbo, and then take a taxi (ca. 70 min / ca. 100-150 RMB / ca. 13-20 EUR) through Xikou to the mountains around Xuedou Temple and the giant golden Buddha statue (currently under renovation - 2024) to the Xufu Rock Waterfall parking lot.
Onset
There is a ticket office right by the parking lot, where you buy the appropriate tickets and continue along the perfectly marked path to the "ferrata" house with rental equipment, where you sign a kind of consent in Chinese, you will also receive an extremely short briefing in the same language, and you will be taken to the start of the via ferrata.
Descent
From the end of the via ferrata, a few dozen meters to the right to the "ferrata" house and the same access road back to the parking lot. If you continue on route C, take a slight uphill left and then a staircase and forest path down to the foot of the waterfall.
