Predicting whether..
Characteristics
The first section is quite vertical and very well equipped. After the ascent we will walk along a ridge section and continue along a path to the second part of the ferrata.
This second part has some more exposed steps, we will pull chains and end up at the top of the cave next to a forest surveillance booth, from there, the views of the Sagra are impressive.
Arrival
Once past La Puebla de don Fadrique, we will take the A-317 highway to the GR-9100, after around 1,5km we will take the dirt track to the left and continue 2km until the road splits to left and right. From here depending the road conditions both directions are posible to get close enough to the ferrata.
Approach
Take the hiking way direction to the mountain and soon you will find the signal and description plate of the ferrata on the right. From there it goes on through the pine forest. We will follow the milestones ascending to the base of the ferrata with about 60 meters to go.
Descent
From the top we will take the steps next to it to descend in search of the forest track / dirty road.
Points of interest
To go down is also posible by using the rappeling line if you have the equipment and know about the technic.
- As typical for the style in Spain/France the cable is only for security and should NOT be used for climbing, so of course also the difficulty level is based on that (different style like in the alps etc. where the cable has much more tension and counts as part of the ferrata)
