Characteristics
Via ferrata located in a beautiful natural setting and with incredible views of the other mountains of Portugal. It is an easy via ferrata equipped with numerous clamps, although at some point you have to help yourself with the natural grips offered by the rock. It does not have complicated or overly exposed steps except for a couple of places.
This 211-meter-long via ferrata allows you to enjoy the activity safely with the appropriate equipment (heat sink, harness, and helmet). There are holds without metal grips, requiring you to use rock crevices to progress. The lifeline is always present. The route, equipped in 2015, presents no major difficulties and is suitable for all beginners who want to enjoy a good via ferrata experience.
Arrival
We access via the N-238 - the road that connects Estreito with Foz de Giraldo - until the information sign for the Pinhal Interior wind farm, here on the right, followed by the forest track, on foot or by car.
Approach
After leaving your car, simply follow the signs for the via ferrata along a well-marked path that makes it easy to reach the via ferrata.
Descent
If we have left the car next to the access track, past the end of the via ferrata, we proceed in the opposite direction, that is, we must follow the path on the left.
Points of interest
As typical for the style in Spain/France the cable is only for security and should NOT be used for climbing, so of course also the difficulty level is based on that (different style like in the alps etc. where the cable has much more tension and counts as part of the ferrata)
