Characteristics

We'll find a short, vertical, and exposed via ferrata with a very highest level of difficulty, 5 parts of level K6.

Along the route, we'll encounter passages with a wide range of grapples and steps that require rock climbing. We'll prioritize safety at some points, as we consider them dangerous, such as the chain crossing. Vertical chain sections will be used as progression, where your hand can slip and you can fall.

We'll begin with an ascent through a waterfall, which demonstrates the level of the via ferrata from the beginning. We'll continue through a scree to tackle the chain section and reach a ledge where we'll find the only escape route from the via ferrata, which will take us to K2.

We'll also continue ascending, encountering several extrem hard overhangs until the end.

Arrival

Taking the town of Cinctorres as a reference, heading towards Castellfort on the CV-124, at 5km 500 we will see a sign before a bridge indicating Rambla de Celumbres and to its right a dirt track which we will take for a few meters until we see a small vacant lot to park.

Approach

From the parking lot we will descend the path which will not leave us in the bed of the ravine and taking our right we will progress between the boulders for about 5 minutes as we turn a curve to the left and we will see the beginning of Section K6

Descent

From its end, we'll follow the trail in search of the end of K2, then descend along the trail and milestones to a signpost, where we have two options:

1. Continue toward Pla de Bequerull Trail, which will take us to a descending ramp that will take us to the riverbed opposite the approach trail, a few meters from the parking lot.

2. The other option is to descend toward the riverbed and start of K2 and complete the other via ferrata, repeat this route, or return along the same riverbed, retracing our steps to the parking lot.

Points of interest

As typical for the style in Spain/France the cable is only for security and should NOT be used for climbing, so of course also the difficulty level is based on that (different style like in the alps etc. where the cable has much more tension and counts as part of the ferrata). Anyway the cable will not help you in the difficult parts...
