Characteristics

Not a real via ferrata as there are only a few securing elements. It follows an exposed western ridge, where a lot of precaution is needed (rocks are not so stable). This ascent includes also climbing up to level I-II and is therefore one of the toughest marked ascents in Kamnik-Savinja Alps!

Arrival

At the end of the road in Logarska dolina is a parking lot.

Approach

From the parking lot follow the marked path to Okrešelj (1 hour). Keep the direction towards Savinjsko sedlo and shortly before the saddle turn right. From Okrešelj to start of the climbing part we need 1h 45m.

Exit

Same as ascent or - in case of second car - via marked path (poor protection!) to Matkov kot.

Interesting facts

In case of doing a very beautiful round tour with descent to Matkov kot we can see famous Matkov Škaf (very deep natural hole in the snow) on our way back.
