Characteristics

A nice long ferrata that leads to the edge of the German and Austrian borders, where you spend the whole day. Ferrata leads to the summit of Schafalpenköpfe 2320m. The journey is very popular and there may be crowds of people in the summer.

Arrival

Via Sonthofen to Oberstdorf. From here to Mittelberg. Don't go to the center but stay on the main road. Turn left to Bödmen and park at the Schwendle Inn.

Approach

From Schwendle Inn (1,176 m) via Wildental to Fluchtalpe (1,390 m). Here to the left and at Vordere Wildenalpe to Fiderepaßhütte (2,065 m). After a slight descent up to the start.

Exit

From the top of the valley to Kemptner Köpfl (2,191 m) and Kemptner Scharte (2,108 m). Keep right in the direction of Hintere Wildenalpe (1,777 m) and Fluchtalpe where you will get a boarding.
