Characteristics

Gruppo Alpini is one of the better ferratas at Lake Como area. Its length and difficulty entertains everyone and it is not so demanding even for the less experienced climbers. You can make rock climbing without a rope.

Ferratas in the area are rather lighter, this one belongs to more interesting.

There are (B / C) sections. The key (D) is in halfway. There are traverses to the right and there are another technical sections (max. C) before the top. The whole ferrata is secured with a chain (about 850m of chain), usually together with the rope and the cramps are common. The majority can climb straight on the rock, thanks to a large number of natural catches. There is a beautiful view on Lake Como and the city of Lecco.

Arrival

Lecco - via the Via Antonio Bonaiti - here you can park at the church (cemetery) and under it

Approach

Take the Corne Medale 52 Normalweg - From the car park in the Antonio Bonaiti street go up the street after reaching Via Paradiso and turn left. CCA 100m after a sharp right-hand turn turn left into the forest and continue 360 m straight then turn right (in the meantime you pass one turn to the right). You will arrive to the left turn after 430 meters to get to the ferrata.

Descent

The descent is on the left side before the peak on street San Martino 56 which will take you to the intersection, where you turned to get to the ferrata. From here go back to the parking lot on the same way...
