Characteristics
Medium level ferrata, quite short, the highest of the three ferratas above the village of Leysin. This ferata No. 2 leads on the left side of the long wall of the massif, near its left perpendicular edge. From the top there is a beautiful panoramic view of the Alps and the entire Lake Geneva below.
Arrival
On the highway to Aigle (canton of Vaud) - Leysin village - from here by cable car up to Bernous
Approach
From Bernouse you can see it, the entire Tour d´Ai massif. Ferata No. 2 starts and leads near the left elevated edge of the whole massif (the right, lower lying side of the wall leads to the more demanding and longer ferata No. 1). Go to the right, deeper under the wall, about 200 m long way to the start of the ferrata.
Exit
From the highest peak to the left. The descent path falls deep from just the highest corner, to the opposite side as we climbed. Some short passages have the character of the lightest ferrata (descent ladders and chains).
Interesting facts
IMPORTANT NOTE: There is no mention of all 3 ferratas above Leysin anywhere on the Internet. There are only 2 between the lower cableway station Leysin and the upper station Berneuse. And the second over Berneuse right in the wall of the "Tour d´Ai". But there are 2 other ferratas of varying difficulty, relatively close to each other and without mutual visibility.
