Characteristics
"Short, but hefty" is how the operators describe their via ferrata Husky Lodge. It consists of 200 steps and stirrups, 400m of steel rope and a five-meter-high iron ladder and overcomes a good 100m high, partially overhanging rock face in Muotathal. The technical difficulties are in the medium range (K3-K4), but basic fitness, a head for heights and some courage are nevertheless prerequisites for an enjoyable experience. At lofty heights, the wall book awaits entry and a bench invites you to linger. The ascent of the via ferrata is free of charge, the necessary equipment can be rented in the Husky Lodge opposite. The via ferrata is therefore ideal for gaining first experiences with the adventure via ferrata.
Arrival
Approach
The entrance to the via ferrata is only a few steps away from the road that leads from the village of Muotathal up to Bisistal. First, you climb steeply up a beautiful rocky ledge and then reach the key section on easy terrain. Beginners can easily and safely leave the rock path here.
Descent
Continue up a 20-meter vertical rock wall to the ladder. At the top, treat yourself to a short breather on Buny's Querbändli with a wonderful view of the village of Muotathal and Hochflue. Now it's along the steel cable over the ramp to the campsite and over another steep step from the chimney to the Wabennest. Next goal is the Chänzeli, which can be reached with further iron stirrups. Arrived at the Chänzeli, the wall book is waiting for your personal entry. Now, just before the exit, enjoy the well-deserved view over the idyllic Muotathal on the bench in the fresh air. Secured by the steel rope you climb the last meters to the exit and from there you get on a hiking trail through the forest back to the restaurant Husky-Lodge.
