Characteristics

The Kaiserjäger Steig is a secured way established in the time of the First World War during the battles between Italy and the Austrians in 1915-1917 for the supply of Austrian soldiers. The path leads from the Passo Falzarego saddle to relatively easy terrain in the western wall of the Piccolo Lagazoui Massif. The rope bridge, surpassing the rock crest, is a disturbance. From the top it is best to continue to Rif. Monte Lagazuoi and from here to the upper station of the cable car.

Arrival

* Via Pusteria Val Badia and San Cassiano in Val Badia and Valparola (2180 m) to Falzarego (2105 m)

* Val Gardena via Passo Gardena Val Badia and San Cassiano in Val Badia and Valparola (2180 m) to Falzarego (2105 m)

Parking at the bottom of the Lagazuoi Passo di Falzarego cable car

Approach

* Parking at the Falzarego-Lagazuoi Cable Car => Piccolo Lagazoui (2:00)

* Piccolo Lagazuoi => Rif. Monte Lagazuoi (0:20)

* Descent according to the selected variant

Exit

There are 3 variants of descent (if we do not consider going back the same way):

* The first option is to return to the car park over the Forcella Travenanzes saddle

* The second option is to return by cable car.

* The third and most interesting option is descent by Italian galleries on the Cengia Martini belt and further down the terrain to the parking lot. Certain walking and resistance to dizziness!
