Königsjodler - Klettersteig - D
Predicting whether..
Characteristics
One of the most popular ferratas in Austria was built in 2001. Its speciality is not only in its difficulty, altitude, length, but also in the way of climbing. All the time, you are actually climbing the individual towers up and down, and you can also find a rope that can be passed by the pulley to the opposite tower! This ferrata rightfully deserves to be one of the TOP Ferratas!
The terrain is difficult so it is possible to sleep upstairs in the cottage.
If you decide to go down in the same day, then start very early. The descent is very comlicated and dangerous.
Arrival
Bishofshofen and B164 to the Dientner Sattel. Parking is on the right by Hochkönigstraße.
Approach
From the parking place go up the Salzburger Almenweg. At Erichhütte you go to the right, climb up the meadow, then up the rock and go up to Hohe Scharte's saddle. Ferrata beggins here. The journey takes over then 2h.
Descent
You will go down the downhill path, which is red marked. It is quite violent and dangerous, there are stones, slides, etc. The path is not protected.
When you get a little bt down, follow the red up on the rock, get back to the beggining. There is also a pointer to Erichhütte. The trip from the top takes at least 3h.
Points of interest
