Characteristics
A relatively long via ferrata to the top of Donnerkogel. It is one of the most controversial ferrata project in Austria. The route is laid over existing climbing paths and even extends into a hunting area. This sparked an unpleasant debate and led to the division of the central area. Despite all the question marks, the via ferrata gives you a wonderful view and a breathtaking experience. In 2017 there was built a new, incredibly exciting panomatic ladder!
Arrival
Linz - Regau - Gosau - drive to Lake Gosausee, where there is a pub and car parking spot.
Approach
From Gosausee, take the 620 route to Gablonzer Hütte and then follow the 611 route to Oberen Törleggsattel. There turn to the left and after a few minutes you will be at the beggining of the ferrata. You can use the cable car and save about an hour.
Exit
From the top follow the descend red trail until you find route 628, which is on the right. This route will lead you to the start.Again, you can use the cable car.
