Characteristics

One of the most famous ferrata in the Dolomites. Every known ferratist has it on  "TO DO" list! The ridge and very long ferrata, leads across Punta Seurata, which is almost 3000 meters high. The difficulty is hidden in its length and mountain character.

Arrival

Canazei. Continue on the SS 641 tp Passo Fedaia and park here.

Approach

From the parking lot to the gravel road and after the second turn, turn left. You will go further and pass the remains of the fortresses. The path turns to the glacier and continues to lead you to the ferrata following the red signs.

Exit

1 - From the cabin you can take a cable car to Malaga Ciapela, from where you must somehow return about 4.5km to the Fedaia Pass to the car park. Possibility to use the Dolomitibus bus from the car park in front of the cable car.

2 - Downhill down the valley. From the cable car on the glacier to the upper station of the lift. From here, about 45min. to the parking lot. Because of the strong defrosting of the glacier, especially in these places, the situation can change rapidly from one year to another, so it should be carefully weighed and used the right equipment for the trip and not just mechanically and blindly follow the previous climber ..

3 - The eventual descent into the valley d'Antermoia ferratou B.Pontura - nevaio was officially closed in 2014 due to neglected maintenance and negligence. Some ropes are lost and the descent can not be recommended
