Characteristics

One of the longest ferratas which is not technically difficult but is very physically demanding. Ferrata Che Guevara will offer you a beautiful exposed climb in the middle of a huge wall. The climb is not complicated, but the length of the ferrata, in conjunction with the sun and the heated rock, can be exhausting. The whole climb, except for a few short parts, is directly on the rock, without a single shadow. Water can only be refilled after you get down from the ferrata, ie. after approx. 7 - 8 hours! So bring enought water with you.

Arrival

Brenner - Lago di Garda Nord - direction Torbole. At Torbole at the roundabout, take the direction to Sarche. About 4km before Sarche at the end of Pietramurata turn at a roundabout to the left between the warehouses, towards the large quarry that is right under the wall. There is a parking lot.

Approach

From the parking lot, take a short walk along the road you came by and turn left between the fences. Everything is well marked with signposts. Then you will walk through the forest to the rock.

Exit

From the Riffugio Don Zio cottage, follow the signs to Sarche. The path is very long and weeping. Finally, you will reach the road where we recommend hitchhike back to the Pietramurata otherwise there is a long way back to the car.

Interesting facts

In summer, the wall is in the sun the whole day and you will not be able to refill your water bottles. When it is very hot, take at least three liters per person! In the spring months (until April), you can come across snow on the top of the ferrata.
