Characteristics

Short, sportive via ferrata on a popular route to Boč (979 m). It is quite short, but vertical and narrow and should not be underestimated. As it can be avoided, the climb on ferrata is optional. As it lies in the forest, it is not recommended to climb it shortly after the rain because it will be wet!

Arrival

By car from Poljčane to parking lot near the hut Planinski dom na Boču (658 m).

Approach

Above the hut we follow the signs to the top of Boč over Balunjača. Via ferrata ("zelo zahtevna zavarovana pot") is not mentioned on all signs. It takes only about 30 minutes from the hut to reach the entrance to via ferrata (branches off to the right at first visible steel ropes on the way).

Exit

From the top of via ferrata we can descent on the normal hiking path around the rock with via ferrata or we continue to the right towards the summit of Boč and take any of hiking paths (pot čez Balunjačo or Senčna pot) for descent. From top of via ferrata it takes another 30 minutes to reach the top of Boč.
