Characteristics
An enjoyable via ferrata in Catalonia region. The ferrata is quite airy and has 4 rope bridges. At the end of the ferrata there is amazing photo point.
The via was opened in 2016 with high quality equipment. This 480 meter route includes vertical sections, terraces and needles. It also features four Nepalese bridges up to 28 meters long, and an optional 20-meter abseil from the top of a natural totem!
Arrival
You will need to park at the parking marked as "Parking de la Font del Roure" in Google Maps.
Approach
Once parked, go to the left side of the road (when coming from Tarragona / Reus), walk a minute further along the road where you will find the path on the left. Keep an eye out for yellow and blue signs painted on the rocks and go straight towards the rock face.
Descent
The fourth part of the ferrata which goes up to the rock needle requires an obligatory abseil back down (40m rope needed). If you do not wish to do this, exit after the 3rd segment, just before a short wooden bridge. On the right you will see a very narrow opening in the rock, you will need to go through the small cave to exit the ferrata. Then, follow the path on the left until you see a small cave (Cova dels Patacons) with a wall made up of rocks, go through it and follow the path to the very short section called Grau de Latrencanous, which is just a descent through the forest, considered K1 and equipped with a lifeline.
