Predicting whether..
Characteristics
Currently, after the destruction of the Cabirol ferrata in Sardinia, probably the only ferrata built on sea cliffs. Behind the rope bridge you can either ascend left to retreat or continue along the second part to the right. The second part is much more demanding and exposed than the first part.
Arrival
To find the entrance, you can search for "Via Ferrata Cala del Molí" in Google Maps or you can use the address Carrer de Sicília, 33, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, 17220.
Note that you are NOT allowed to park in front of the entrance of the ferrata!
You can park at the (free) car park of the nearby harbour. Then, walk up on the dirt ramp just behind the car park, past the restaurant overlooking the sea and a picnic area, then continue climbing up using the stairs on your left. Once you climb the first set of stairs and you see a park with benches, continue to the right and climb all the way up to the road. At the road, turn right and you'll see the Mirador de las Triadores where the Via Ferrata starts. At the covered pavilion you will also find a clear map of the ferrata.
Approach
From the car park, head towards Carrer de Sicilia street, up to the gazebo overlooking the sea, from which you descend about 100 m down wide steps to the ferrata on your right.
Descent
The ferrata ends a few metres from the starting point. Follow the access road back to the car park.
Points of interest
At present probably the only via ferrata on the sea cliffs.
Romantic coastal path with red and white markings north-east to Cala de Sant Pol bay, a wonderful walk along the coast for about 30-40 min one way.
