Characteristics
A long ridge ferrata that leads above the Gosau glacier near Adamek Hütte. Ferrata begins with climbing passages of difficulty B, C to C/D and continues to the beautiful peak ridge, which leads to the very top - Hohes Kreuz 2837m. Not many ferratas end up at such an altitude. Views of the surrounding landscape are amazing! Descend via the road to Adamek Hütte (4h) or Simonyhütte (2h). For lovers of alpine ferratas it is definitely one of the most beautiful ferratas in Austria.
Arrival
Linz - Bad Ischl - Gosau - here in front of the lake is a parking lot.
Approach
Around Lake Gosausee through a forest path, then up to Adamek Hütte. It will take you at least 4.5h. From Adamek Hütte straight towards Dachstein. You can reach the ferrata via the glacier.
Exit
Follow the trail back to the cottage and down to the lake the same way.
Interesting facts
- time consuming and physically demanding ferrata
