Characteristics

Although it is an easy via ferrata, the approach to it is challenging. The total altitude difference in one day is around 2000 meters. Although the via ferrata is located on Italian territory, it was built by Swiss mountain guides.

Arrival

Direction Brig, Stalden and Saas Almagell.

Boarding

Parking at Haus Apollo and then towards Almagelleralp, Almagellerhütte.

Exit

Back the same way.

Interesting facts

After climbing to the Sonnigpass, where the via ferrata begins/ends, you go down and then back up the same way. You can use this as a starting point for Zwischbergen. This variant includes an overnight stay in a hut. The last option is to leave and return from Italy from Lake Alpe dei Cavalli.
