Characteristics

A secured path into the High Tatras that offers beautiful views of the surrounding peaks and moves through high alpine, rocky terrain. Securing is done using chains, which are used more for holding on than for hooking into a via ferrata set. Therefore, no via ferrata set is worn here and caution is advised. If it rains, entering this secured path is not recommended. The path can be walked in both directions and can be extended to include the climb to Východná Vysoká. Along the way you will come across several mountain lakes and two mountain huts.

Arrival

On the highway from Žilina to Starý Smokovec.

Boarding

From Smokovec along the Sliezky Dom to the Polský hrebeň saddle, descend slightly and then continue to the Prielom saddle.

Exit

From the Zbojnická Chata through the Velká Studená Dolina to Hrebienok and back to Smokovec.

Interesting facts

Secured with chains, no via ferrata set is required.
There are several mountain lakes along the way.
Possibility of climbing to Východná Vysoká.
